A Community Built for Wonder

Welcome to the Clifton Road Campus, a state-of-the-art learning community located on the corner of Clifton Road and CDC Parkway on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) campus. Our facility is designed to serve as a “third teacher,” providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for the children of employees from Emory University, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA), and the CDC, as well as full-time Emory students

Our Environment: The Third Teacher

The Clifton Road site is architecturally designed to foster collaboration, wonder, and curiosity

  • The Piazza: Our classrooms are organized into “villages” (Infant, Toddler I, Toddler II, and Preschool) that open into a shared interior “piazza”. This central community space encourages interaction across different age groups and supports on-going project work.
  • Seamless Transparency: Large windows flood our interior spaces with natural light, creating a seamless connection between indoor learning and the natural world outside.
  • Outdoor Playscapes: Each classroom has a glass door opening onto age-appropriate playgrounds. These spaces feature hills, sandboxes, tricycle paths, and multi-level play-scapes where children can wave wands made of long-stemmed grasses or hunt for butterflies

Programs at Clifton Road

We follow the Village concept, where children move up together in August to maintain stable community bonds

1
Infant & Toddler Villages:
In our Infant and Toddler Villages, caring relationships form the heart of early learning. Thoughtfully designed environments and attentive teachers support each child’s natural curiosity while fostering early communication, movement, and connection.
3
Georgia Pre-K
Start your child’s educational journey on the right path with Georgia’s Pre-K Program at The Clifton School! This lottery-funded program is thoughtfully designed to prepare Georgia’s four-year-olds for kindergarten through engaging, high-quality learning experiences in a supportive and nurturing environment.
2
Preschool Village:
In our Preschool Village, children engage in meaningful play that nurtures critical thinking, creativity, and social-emotional growth. School readiness is woven naturally into daily experiences, ensuring children develop strong foundations while preserving the joy and wonder of early childhood.
4
Junior Summer Discovery Camp
Exciting weekly sessions for rising Kindergarteners through age 10, featuring themes like "Culinary Creations" and "Adventure Quest"
